The Prunus ‘Umineko’ (Umineko Cherry)
The Prunus Umineko is an upright deciduous flowering cherry tree that takes a spreading habit. ‘Umineko’ is the Japanese for seagull – a common bird in Japan and one that shares its pure white colours with this tree. The blossoms in spring take the shape of elegant singular white flowers. They perfectly compliment its light green foliage and during the autumn the leaves turn to rich colours of red and orange.
The tree has a narrow form so would be ideal for a garden with restricted space.
