It’s a delight in early spring, when its dusky pink buds open to a frothy profusion of pale pink flowers, which lighten to near-white as they age. A delightful addition to a smaller garden, it’s name ‘Ichiyo’ (Japanese for ‘one leaf’), refers to the leaf-like pistil at the heart of each flower. Please note: This bare root plant should be planted out as soon as possible after delivery. Garden care: When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole. Lightly prune in summer to retain the shape and cut back any dead, diseased or crossing branches.
