Position: partial shade Soil: moist, humus rich, neutral to acid Rate of growth: average Flowering period: March to May Hardiness: fully hardy ‘Cottage Cream’ is a very pretty, hardy primrose with beautiful, clotted-cream coloured petals and bright orange centres above rosettes of rough, textured leaves. Pair with miniature bulbous perennials such as Narcissus romieuxii ‘Julia Jane’, N. bulbocodium and N. cantabricus for a charming spring display. Garden care: Plant out in a partially shaded and sheltered position, adding plenty of leaf mould and compost to the planting hole and backfill. Water well until established. Divide large clumps in late spring or early summer after the plant has flowered, preferably during a wet spell.
