Position: full sun Soil: moist, well-drained neutral to slightly acid soil Rate of growth: slow-growing Hardiness: fully hardy Emerging in spring with an orange-red flush, the foliage of this low-growing conifer turns greener as it matures. Then, as the temperatures drop in winter, the foliage starts to change colour once again – this time turning maroon-purple. Forming an irregular dome as it (slowly) grows, this conifer is ideal for patio pots, or filling gaps at the front of a sunny border. Garden care: They do not require any pruning, however any shoots that spoil the symmetry throughout the year. Protect from cold, drying winds.
