A dwarf pine – perefct for rockeries and small spaces. Position: full sun or partial shade Soil: moist, well-drained neutral to slightly acid soil Rate of growth: slow-growing Hardiness: fully hardy ‘Mughus’ is a slow-growing, cushion-shaped evergreen pine with dark-green needles. It can be used to great effect in the garden as an accent plant or to provide scale to other coniferous or deciduous plantings. Garden care: Pruning is not usually necessary, however any shoots that ruin the symmetry of the plant can be removed in autumn. Apply a generous layer of mulch around the base of the plant (avoiding the immediate crown) in late winter.
