Unique foliage and eye-catching flowers

These herbaceous perennials are also known as ‘Elephant’s ears’ due to their oversized, leathery foliage. Their large, dense foliage and colourful clusters of flowers make for an excellent addition to a border. Their bell-shaped, spring flowers provide early nectar for pollinators. They are delightfully carefree, which is why they own a spot in Beth Chatto’s famous gravel garden. Having high tolerance to drought and nutrient-poor soils, Bergenias are extremely easy to grow and care for.
